People are our primary service component - ISSC Managers, Supervisors and Service Team Members providing valuable, often changing and complex functions which directly contribute to the safety and security of people and property. While technology provides valuable support and service outreach, service success is more often determined at people to people interaction levels.
Our people are our greatest resource and asset. The selection, assignment, training, motivation and support of each Service Team Member is a substantial part of our overall Service Delivery Program. Today’s service environment and requirements mandate informed and selective personnel decisions. It is critical that service members possess specific skills, provide a professional and positive image and are motivated and supported by both the customer and employer to provide a clear and defined level of performance.
The reputation of ISSC has been built from the quality of individuals we recruit, train and assign. We are proud of the fact that we attract a significant number of new Service Team Members from referrals within and outside our company.
Applicants are drawn from multiple avenues and a variety of resources including, but not limited to, our successful referral programs, military and veteran’s groups, colleges and technical schools, community and special interest groups, governmental agencies, job fairs and media advertising.
Assigning The Correct Individual
At ISSC, we utilize a “Site Specific Assignment Matrix” for the selection and assignment of Service Team Members.
Our system provides a defined focus for assigning the most appropriate Team Member. It provides assurance to each customer that the Team Member is fully capable of performing the duties and responsibilities of their position, has the personal skills to exercise courtesy, respect and professionalism and presents a positive image of both Your Organization and ISSC.
Selecting Quality Personnel
Our multi – point screening, testing and selection process is comprehensive, stringent, detailed and second to none in the industry. It is specifically designed to identify the appropriate candidate for each Service Team. We are confident it will meet, or exceed, your requirements.
Each potential ISSC Team Member must successfully complete our entire screening and selection process. No short cuts are taken. There is only one standard at ISSC - Less than 18% of applicants make the ISSC Service Team.
Our selection program is highlighted by the following innovative and well above industry standard screening, testing and selection process.
- Independent, Unbiased, National Background/ Criminal History Check
- Language Usage & Comprehension Testing
- Full Drug Testing With Chain of Custody Safeguards
- Physical Exam By Independent Physician
- Personality Profile Screening
- Education – Military Service & Discharge Verification
- Compliance With State & TWIC Licensing Requirements
- Completion of Our Multiple Interview Process
It is not our policy to submit state registration information and allow the appropriate state agency to conduct the criminal background review for us while the Team Member all the while has been assigned to the customer’s site. Nor do we concur with prevailing industry standard of relying on sending the applicant to their local County Courts to supply documentation as sufficient proof of initial acceptability.
ISSC knows the results of each applicant’s background checks, local and national, and personal history before the final interview or employment offer is discussed.
Providing Meaningful Training
“Next to the selection of qualified personnel, providing meaningful and task specific initial, continuation and skill enhancement training remains one of the most vital elements of service success.”
ISSC’s comprehensive Five (5) Point Training Program addresses this critical service success component. It provides each Service Team Member with not only a strong foundation of initial knowledge and skills but industry and site specific competence. In addition to utilizing the most up-to-date interactive methods and current information, it is delivered and verified by qualified instructors.
We evaluate the specific service needs of each customer and tailor site and industry specific training programs to meet their needs; including special skill requirements. This ensures the most appropriate, focused training for your needs.
Our training is fully supported by testing, verification and documentation; whether provided through our Corporate Training Center, our licensed and certified Training Academy, our Site Available Learning Management System, Quarterly Training Sessions, Pocket-card or Tail-gate sessions, or our E-Training Bulletins. Additionally, we are active participants in many local Contractor Safety Councils who provide specific instruction relevant to the industrial sector.
Not overlooked in our comprehensive program are the vital areas of customer service and safety. Every Service Team Member completes our “Quality Service” orientation as well as our “Critical Thinking & Safety” program.
Whether your individual requirements reflect First Aid-CPR-AED certification, HAZMET or HAZCOM familiarization, Fire Alarm or Medical Emergency Response, Console Operation or Weigh Scale operation, we provide specific training modules to meet your needs.
Ensuring Success Through Employee Support
The provision of comprehensive “employee focused” benefit and recognition programs is crucial to recruiting and retaining the highest caliber individuals. We are convinced that comprehensive and quality benefits directly impact the fact that over 40% of our Team Members have (5+) years of service tenure with ISSC.
The core of our benefits philosophy reflects the following:
- Each employee benefit should provide a “real” benefit to the employee and not just reflect a marketing tool.
- Our benefit program is made available to each and every company employee, not just management. Health benefits are extended to employee family members.
- Each Service Team Member qualifies for exactly the same benefits program (including life, medical, vision and dental).
Likewise, we place great emphasis on recognizing our employees and the contributions they make. We support and recognize such contributions through multiple award and recognition programs. From rewarding performance, safety and service improvements to recognizing service tenure and changing family conditions, we continue to support the services they provide to customers and a positive employment experience.
